What are the disadvantages of a FUE hair transplant?
The choice between FUE and FUT hair transplant is often difficult and must be made considering the patient’s situation. FUE has several disadvantages. First of all, it is mandatory to shave completely the donor area, and by the way often the entire scalp.
Second of all, the number of extracted grafts is smaller with the FUE technique. We must indeed extract them one by one. Today, I am using a motorization that I developed and that enables me to reach between 1800 and 2000 FUE grafts per day.
The transection rate is always higher with FUE than with FUT.
